PHILADELPHIA –
A young boy in the battle of his life was honored for his courage Sunday.
4-year-old Grayson Savery has been named this year’s Pennsylvania Champion Ambassador for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Grayson was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor and had a devastating accident from a lawnmower that resulted in the loss of four toes and partial amputation of his foot.
Grayson remains optimistic and he even thinks of himself as the comic book character, Iron Man.
“Grayson just got that spirit to fight the fight he’s out there being a 4-year-old every day, not worrying about the other stuff going on,” said Eric Beckman, chair of the Marriott Business Council. “That’s really the compelling story for all of us as parents, as people. He exemplifies live life to the fullest.”
The 4-year-old and his family will serve as spokespersons advocating for Children’s Hospitals across the country.
In November, all state Champion Ambassadors will travel to Washington D.C. and Orlando, Fla. to share their stories with a national audience.
